Power Supply Function

page: 2 of 22

The electricity delivered via power lines to our homes, schools, and businesses is alternating current. However, many electrical devices, including computers, do not use AC electricity. Instead, they use DC electricity

It is the power supply's job to convert AC electricity to specific levels of DC electricity. As a standard, the power supply outputs 5-volt and 12-volt supplies of DC electricity to various computer components.
